Description: The University of Wisconsin System Administration (UWSA) is seeking two (2) HR Generalists to provide human resources expertise in our growing and thriving institution. These individuals will provide HR services to a team of employees who support the University of Wisconsin System.
 
The HR Generalist serves as a recruiter and provides general human resource services including training and development; HR data entry; and assisting with new employee orientation and onboarding.
 
An ideal candidate will have prior human resources experience and a proven ability to create HR business practices that drive business results. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who can communicate effectively and assist individuals at all levels within the organization. This position will report directly to an assigned HR business partner to support the general HR operations of UWSA.
 
Hybrid work options may be available to Wisconsin residents. Work will be performed most of the time in our Madison, WI office, with remote work permitted for the remaining time.  Specifics regarding work location requirements will be discussed during the interview process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years of experience working in the Human Resources function with responsibilities such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management or related areas
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate’s degree in a related field
  • Experience with AA/EEO initiatives and programs
  • Direct experience with full cycle recruitment, such as: creating job announcements, updating/reviewing position descriptions, determining appropriate classification of positions, drafting interview questions, etc.
  • Experience with HRIS, such as PeopleSoft
  • Strong computer skills (i.e., knowledge, skill and ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database reporting)
  • Experience providing training on HR processes/procedures to a variety of audiences
  • Knowledge of, and the ability to interpret, a wide variety of complex human resources laws, including state and federal employment, affirmative action, and compensation regulations and laws
  • Experience working for a higher education college, university, or system
