Human Resources Manager
Location: Madison, WI (This is not a remote position)
Christensen Associates is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team. This role is unique in that it blends traditional HR leadership with internal operations responsibilities, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working across people, processes, and organizational operations.
The Human Resources Manager plays a key role in supporting the entire employee lifecycle from recruiting and onboarding to employee relations and benefits administration while also working with our administrative team to ensure our internal office operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
HR Leadership

Lead recruitment efforts including writing job postings, sourcing candidates, screening applicants, interviewing, and coordinating hiring decisions

Manage employee relations and provide guidance to managers on people-related issues

Administer employee benefits programs, including open enrollment and group benefits renewals

Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes

Participate in the annual performance review process

Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with records retention requirements

Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, firm events, and recognition programs

Provide HR training and guidance to employees and managers as needed

Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with employment laws and best practices
Internal Operations

Support internal project administration and reporting activities

Ensure internal systems accurately capture project, employee, and timekeeping data

Maintain internal communications including company-wide updates and the monthly newsletter

Manage the firm’s SharePoint intranet site
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, including recruiting, employee relations and benefits administration

Experience coordinating employee engagement initiatives or company events is beneficial

HR certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines

Self-starter who takes initiative and works well independently and collaboratively

Understanding of employment laws and HR compliance practices

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn new systems
