Every year Wisconsin SHRM puts together a State Conference for Human Resource Professionals.  We are very proud of the success of those conferences through the years.  The conferences would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of volunteer professionals who form a planning committee each year.
 
  • 2024 Conference Co-Chairs - Positions filled
     
  • Seeking 2025 Conference Co-Chairs Deadline is October 27, 2023 
    • We are now looking for two committed HR leaders to serve as the 2025 Conference Co-Chairs.  The 2025 Wisconsin State SHRM Conference will be held October 8-10, 2025 at the Kalahari Resort & Conference Center in the Wisconsin Dells.  To view volunteer position descriptions click here and to complete your Nomination Form click here.  SHRM members from across the state are encouraged to apply!  Please help spread the word.  The annual conference is not possible without the dedication of the conference committee.

Guidelines for the Conference Committee Selection
The 2024 Conference Co-chairs working with support from the Conference Liaison Director will select the 2024 sub-committee co-chairs.
  • Individuals serving in a conference sub-committee co-chair role must submit an application by October 27th of the year prior to the conference year for which they wish to serve.
  • Conference sub-committee co-chairs are allowed to serve up to three years in the same role.  If someone serves up to 3 years they will be able to apply for a different role on the committee.
  • Applicants interested in applying for Exhibit, Programming, Accommodation and Publications committee co-chair roles will be asked to make a 2-3 year commitment.
  • To be considered, all applications must be submitted by the deadline.
General Committee Expectations:
  • Attend monthly committee meetings from December of the prior year up until the conference date (October).  The option to attend via conference call is usually available.
  • Fulfill the position requirements as outlined by the Conference Position Descriptions.
  • Be present and actively involved "behind the scenes" at the conference. Some committee members are limited to the number of learning sessions they can attend.
  • Develop new relationships with HR Professionals across the state and have fun.

Biography

Amy Collett is the Vice President - Human Resources and Administration at Society Insurance.

Collett oversees and leads all aspects of human resources at Society, including, but not limited to: strategic planning, benefit and wellness program management, total compensation, recruiting and talent management, payroll, training and employee development, safety and security, employee relations, regulatory compliance, leave administration and peer coaching. She is also responsible for our Office Services group that provides imaging and mail support as well as our Claims Services group that supports both our Work Comp and PAL Departments with Claims processing.


Prior to joining Society, she was a Human Resources Manager at 4imprint.

A 1998 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Collett earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Human Resources and Marketing, with a minor in Economics. She went on to earn an M.A. degree in Counseling, with an emphasis in Higher Education, from Lakeland College in 2006 and has served as an adjunct faculty member for Marian University and Lakeland University over the past 12 years. She also is a 2008 graduate of the Leadership Fond du Lac program and a 2013 Future 5 Award recipient in their inaugural year.

Collett has earned both SPHR & SHRM-SCP certifications and the AIM designation and is heavily involved with local organizations. She is currently a member of the Wisconsin State SHRM Conference Committee, a volunteer for Junior Achievement, Vice President of the FABOH Board of Directors, member of the Board of Directors of Envision Fond du Lac, serves on the New North Innovation Award Committee and serves as Volunteer Coordinator for both the FDL Soccer Association and the High School Cross Country team. Previously, she served as Secretary of the Fond du Lac Credit Union, President of the Fond du Lac Area Human Resources Association and served on both the Fox Valley SHRM board and the Wisconsin State SHRM Council.

A native of Fond du Lac, Wis., Collett is married with two children. She enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, watching her kids in their sports activities, traveling, working out and reading.
