The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is a hands-on role that provides full-cycle human resources support by performing a wide variety of complex, sensitive, and confidential functions. This role carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits, employee relations, human resources information system (HRIS), leave administration, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.
Select Job Duties:

Performs various HR functions and procedures for all company personnel; and recommends new approaches and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.

Maintains HRIS records for HR-related transactions; and oversees or assists with testing and/or implementation of new applications, functions, and processes.

Coordinates with Payroll to proactively ensure accurate and appropriate processing of various HR actions e.g., mass wage changes, leaves, pay group transfers, and benefit status updates.

Serves as the primary contact for reports and data requests needed by HR and other departments and develops, organizes, analyzes, and summarizes information based on requests.

Monitors and records HR information and prepares necessary transactions to maintain accurate employee and paid leave information.

Acts as liaison between employees, supervisors, and vendor to coordinate day-to-day activities of the Company's self-insured Worker's Compensation program; and assists HR management with vendor and consultant relations.
Selection Criteria:
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in HR management or business-related field or equivalent experience.

Experience working in the areas of payroll and benefits preferred.
Knowledge and Skills

Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Familiar with or the ability to learn HRIS and timekeeping systems.

Must be highly organized and detail-oriented, accurate, and timely.

Familiar with or ability to understand payroll practices, benefit programs, FMLA, HIPAA, Wisconsin Worker's Compensation rules and regulations, and union labor agreements.
