SHRM Foundation Efforts at Volunteer Leader Conference
Wisconsin SHRM chapter and council leaders had the opportunity to get together at the annual Volunteer Leader Conference on August 14 and 15 in Oshkosh for great programming and networking opportunities. Our annual event in support of the SHRM Foundation included a cork and gift card pull, along with a silent auction. The silent auction included two opportunities to bid on the exciting HR Conference Cruise.
We are pleased to share that the fundraising activities at VLC raised $3,448.20.
The Wisconsin State Council of SHRM decided to partner with Texas SHRM to assist with flood relief efforts in Texas. We donated a portion of the proceeds from our SHRM Foundation activities to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund on behalf of WI SHRM and Texas SHRM. Kerr County was the epicenter of the July 4th floods, and our donation of just over $1,000.00 will help with the long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts.
The success of this event is due to our donors, bidders, and volunteers who made this event a success. Special thanks goes out to all of our chapters and individuals who donated baskets, wine or gift cards to make this a success.
