2025 WI SHRM Volunteer Leader Conference Recap – Where Leadership Takes ACTion!

The 2025 WI SHRM Volunteer Leader Conference (VLC), held August 14–15 at the Oshkosh Marriott Waterfront, brought together volunteer leaders from across Wisconsin for two energizing days of learning, networking, and fun.
From team-building puzzles and speed-learning sessions to hands-on workshops, the conference delivered fresh ideas and practical tools for SHRM chapter leaders. Keynote speaker Bruce Waller inspired attendees with his mantra, “ACT – Action Changes Things,” challenging everyone to commit to meaningful next steps for their chapters.
Highlights included the new WI SHRM Shark Tank activity, where chapter leaders pitched creative ideas to a panel of “Sharks,” plus celebrations of chapter award winners, volunteer champions, and the impact of the SHRM Foundation. Networking by the riverfront patio—and a little fundraising fun—rounded out the experience.
A huge thank you to our sponsors, speakers, host chapter Oshkosh SHRM, and every volunteer who made this event possible. VLC 2025 proved once again that when SHRM leaders come together, small steps create big change.
