Description: STRATEGIC HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

Reports to: President
Status: Full Time
Date: 11/03/22

Position Summary:
This position maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to listen effectively, honor confidentiality, and project empathy.
  • A professional attitude. Interested in building collaborative working relationships and supporting company initiatives.
  • Knowledge and experience in recruitment, hiring, and employee development and retention.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business, or related field which includes a solid understanding of key employment law principles.
 Software Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook),
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee recruiting and screening of applicants to align with the Firm’s core values.
  • Maintain knowledge on a wide variety of recruitment resources and techniques to fit various job functions within the Firm.
  • Coordinate the overall hiring strategy with leadership and assist with the hiring of employees.
  • Provide staff with the first point of contact for questions and offer guidance on Human Resource related topics.
  • Work closely with Firm leadership and all employees to build on a progressive office culture, improve work relationships, optimize productivity, and deepen employee satisfaction.
  • Help determine, craft, and administer legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices. Reduce complexity while ensuring fairness and equality.
  • Correctly interpret policy and employment related laws and regulations. Clearly explain and answer policy related questions.
  • Develop and coordinate employee on-boarding program, including instruction on company policies and procedures, and resource guidance to help drive positive employee experiences.
  • Coordinate with leadership to identify, design, and implement all appropriate staff development programs, including employee engagement, performance management, career development, and talent retention.
  • Provide guidance to directors and managers to promote compliance with applicable regulations, minimizing risk and fostering an ethical work environment.
  • Coach leadership to encourage employee engagement and create accountability for employee development.
  • Lead and support a well-defined, progressive disciplinary process that focuses on collaborative, successful outcomes.
  • Ensure any disciplinary actions, terminations, or lay-offs are handled fairly and consistently. Provide counsel and guidance to leadership and assure there are no alternate courses of action that should be considered.
