Your 2020 WI SHRM State Council
As we approach the end of the decade, I’d like to thank all our volunteer leaders for helping to elevate the HR profession in Wisconsin through your leadership in your communities, in your chapters and committees, and with the State Council.
As we approach the new year, I’d like introduce our 2020 Wisconsin State Council SHRM leaders – Jackie Peterson (State Director-Elect), Melanie Bruins (Secretary), Connie Bitter (Treasurer), Jay Stephany (Certification Director), Terleen Cheslock (College Relations Director), Kyra Matkovich (Communications Director), Janine Diana (Conference Liaison Director), Jennifer Zahari (Foundation Director), Jeff Palkowski (Government Affairs Director), Rachael Brady (Leadership Director), Barbara Hamann (Membership Director), Mary Vogl-Rauscher (Programming Director), Bob Von Der Linn (Workforce Readiness Director), Kelsie Beckfield (District Director – Northwest), Jennifer Jirsa (District Director – Southwest), Sheree Yates (District Director – Southeast), Jane Kurylo (District Director – Northeast), and Jodi Wellhoefer (District Director – Northcentral). I look forward to working with all of you.
As a State Council, we strive to facilitate connections between chapter leaders, state council leaders, at-large members in the state, and the SHRM Board of Directors. We pursue opportunities to develop our volunteer leaders, grow membership within chapters and the state, coordinate legislative and advocacy initiatives, promote diversity and inclusion, provide programing and networking opportunities, and provide financial support to chapters. If you would to get more involved, we have opportunities with the 2020 WI State Council. Registration is now open for our 6th Annual Day on the Hill in Madison. Day on the Hill is on February 13th. Registration will be opening soon for the Student Conference and HR Games Competition. This event will be March 13th and 14th and is hosted by Western Technical College in La Crosse. This event brings together student throughout the state to test their HR knowledge and network. We are looking for professional chapter and at-large members to assist in volunteer roles for the competition part of the event.
