At HUI, the Human Resources Director is responsible for the HR team and manages the day-to day operations of the HR office, the administration of the Human Resources policies, procedures and programs and strategic HR planning. The HR Director is responsible for the following functional areas: employee development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, employee orientation, training (HUI’s Pay For Value program), benefits, compensation, organizational development, recruitment and retention.

The HR Director originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives. This person will be part of a high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment and high expectations to employee performance; this would entail recruiting and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The HR Manager will implement employee services, policies, and programs. This person also assists and advises HUI’s leadership team about Human Resources issues.

HUI has a team based culture and the HR Director would be part of the Connections Team. This team is made up of HR, IT, and Accounting, members on this team need to be extremely flexible and willing to cross train outside of your expected job duties. This position will require someone who is very organized and can plan their day accordingly to meet the team expectations and Human Resource responsibilities. To be successful at HUI this person needs have the desire to take risks, learn, and grow personally and professionally.

This position’s duties include but are not limited to:

  • HR Strategic Planning
  • Recruitment Initiatives
  • Staffing Logistics
  • Improve Systems and Processes
  • Organization Development
  • Employment and Compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting
  • Employee orientation, Development, and Training
  • Coordinate New Hire Orientation
  • Policy Development, Documentation, and Enforcement
  • Employee Relations
  • Company-wide Committee Facilitation
  • Compensation and Benefits Administration;
  • Administration of Company Safety Program
  • Weekly HR updates in payroll
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in HR or Business Management (or related degree)
  • 5-10 years of experience in HR. Experience within a Manufacturing environment desired and helpful.
  • Prior Leadership experience.
  • Maintain and Adhere to Employee and Company Confidentiality
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, organizational skill, administrative writing and typing skills, and verbal communication
  • Stay current and updated on industry and job knowledge by participating in educational and training events; reading professional publications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, strongly preferred.
  • Participate in: Public Relations Events, Safety Team, Benefits and Wellness Team, Events Team, Training and Staffing Team, Hiring Team
