Description: Madison College is hiring a Compensation and Benefits Manager within the Human Resources Department. This individual will provide a clear vision and leadership skills to the strategic planning and analysis of compensation and benefits for faculty, administrators and staff.

This senior management position will provide professional level human resources expertise and support in the areas of compensation, classification, fringe benefits and cost/benefit analysis of new and existing College initiatives. Additionally, the incumbent will complete project assignments as requested by Human Resources management.

Madison College offers an excellent benefits package. The hiring range for this position is $83,253-$104,066.

Essential Duties
The following duties are typically expected of this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned by the President or designee.
1. Leads the strategic planning and analysis of compensation and benefits.
2. Provides leadership to the Compensation and Benefits teams and work closely with the Office of Budget and Management in costing and analyzing the effects of strategic compensation initiatives to determine operational and fiscal impact on the College.
3. Supervises/Manages a team of 5+ direct-report staff (FTE, LTE, and Contractors). Coaches, mentors and develops staff to increase their effectiveness and growth within the organization.
4. Oversees the documentation and maintenance of job profiles, job descriptions, position description questionnaire, etc. Works with systems experts and HR colleagues to ensure optimal delivery of compensation and benefit functionality.
5. Reviews and analyzes changes to state and federal laws pertaining to compensation, benefits, and other rewards, and reports necessary or suggested changes to management.
6. Responsible for the application of job evaluation methodologies using salary survey data, internal alignment and other quantitative and qualitative approaches to determine job classifications for management, faculty and staff positions that ensure market competitiveness.
7. Reviews and makes recommendations to updated College Compensation Guidelines.
8. Manages compensation projects as requested by the college administration, conducts on-going analyses, evaluates jobs and salary ranges for market competitiveness and internal equity.
9. Oversees salary surveys in order to make recommendations to update or develop classification specifications.
10. Serves as the Chair of the Benefits Committee, leading the research and analysis of the college’s employee benefit programs and makes recommendations regarding plan design to assure indirect compensation maintains a competitive advantage.
11. Oversees the administration of vendor contracts for employee benefit programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability and retirement plans to ensure employees are receiving cost competitive services and excellent customer service from all benefit providers.
12. Manages annual enrollment periods, approves the preparation of annual enrollment materials and conducts employee meetings to communicate benefit changes as needed.
13. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

Qualifications 
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to area of assignment; Master’s degree preferred.
2. Seven (7) years of work experience directly related to the essential duties required to successfully perform in this position, which must include:
- Three (3) years’ experience in supervising and development of staff in the above functions. 
- Experience with strategic planning and analysis of compensation is highly preferred.
3. Certification as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP or comparable certification) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS or comparable certification) or will obtain CCP or CEBS within 18 months of hire.
