Description: Job Title:                HR Manager

FLSA Status:          Salary

Reports To:           HR Director/HR Assistant Director

 

Under the direction of the HR Director/HR Assistant Director; deliver all aspects of HR support to the assigned store(s). Support and administer the HR programs and competencies in the development of associates and managers.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit candidates with the job profile and management expectations for the position
  • Identify, assess and deliver training to leaders as needed
  • Partner with Store Director and Assistant Director of Human Resources regarding employee relation issues and areas of concern
  • Provide interpretation of policies, procedures and guidelines to leaders and associates as needed
  • Utilize Talent Connections Program as a driver of talent management to get a pulse on associates overall job satisfaction, professional goals and to maintain succession planning
  • Uses turnover data as a driver to develop action plans to focus on associate retention and utilized the Exit Interview Program regularly
  • Leads recruiting, interviewing, and the onboarding process of candidates for store location
  • Keep current with new and emerging HR trends and communicate them
  • Build lasting and positive working relations with all Festival associates
  • Assist Store Director in oversight of performance management and merit process at store location
  • Assist with questions regarding company benefits
  • Assist  associates with leave administration and monitor associates leave activity
  • Conduct new hire enrollment sessions for newly hired associates
  • Review reports to ensure accuracy and coordinate all paperwork at store level
  • Review HR documents for accuracy and completeness and submit to the appropriate HR specialty in the support offices
  • Maintain store's uniform supply and laundering program
  • Coordinate Sunshine Fund gifts and Service Award distribution
  • Represent the HR department at store huddle ups, culture building meetings, and safety meetings
  • Maintain store communication bulletin boards
  • Partner with store leaders on store events such as the United Way Campaign
  • Assist with HR related duties as assigned by the Store Director or Director of Human Resources
  • Provide support to the Payroll Department by correcting timecards, entering schedules and completing payroll sign off process
  • Monitor accruals such as PTO (Paid Time Off) for associates
  • Provide new store support for all new stores within assigned market

 

RRELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

Organization Relationships:

  • Daily contact with all levels of store management to provide HR policy interpretation and guidance.
  • Frequent contact with Support Office Human Resource partners to gain information, work on joint projects and utilize expertise.
  • Frequent contact with in-store associates regarding store level matters.

External Business Relationships:

  • Contact with Human Resource peers through SHRM and other organizations.
  • Contact with HR interest groups, other companies, consulting firms, and a variety of industrial associates to exchange information and keep abreast of new HR developments, best practices, and market trend

QUALIFICATIONS

Human Resources or Operations Management experience of at least 2 years is required. PHR is preferred. Strong knowledge required in the following:

  • Interacting with all levels within the organization
  • Upbeat, positive, and energetic attitude
  • Excellent time management skills

  • Sitting at a computer 40% of the time
  • Bending, stretching, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. is required
  • Walking the store is an essential part of this role and is expected each day
  • Professional presence and proper phone etiquette is required

WORK SCHEDULE

The HR Manager is a full-time salaried position.
