The Compensation Analyst is responsible for development and administration of the compensation programs of UW Health, consistent with the mission, vision and values of the organization.  The incumbent functions as an integral member of the compensation team, consulting with management, and other members of the Human Resource staff.  This position is involved in all aspects of the Compensation programs, including but not limited to development and administration of position descriptions, job evaluation and analysis, market evaluation, implementation of adjustments, and communications.  


Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week.  Additional hours could be required to assist with department operational needs.

Qualifications
 
Education Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
Preferred Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
Compensation specific course work.
Work Experience Minimum Two years of Human Resource Experience
Preferred Four years of Human Resource experience
Experience working with compensation programs
Licenses & Certifications Minimum  
Preferred SHRM Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or World at Work Certified Compensation Professional designation a plus.
Required Skills, Knowledge
and Abilities
Must be detail orientated with strong organizational skills.
Must possess knowledge of and ability to use computer software to include:  Microsoft Office suite (or comparable software); knowledge of PeopleSoftdesirable.
Exceptional spreadsheet skills.  Demonstrated ability to turn large volume of data into meaningful information.
Ability to develop the principles and practices of compensation methodology.
Ability to work with numerical calculations and to organize large data projects.
Knowledge of and ability to apply basic statistical interpretation to compensation analysis.
Effective analytical ability to solve complex problems and issues.
General knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource management.
Effective communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people.
Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
Ability to react to frequent changes in duties and volume of work.
Comfortable accepting responsibility for small to medium projects involving multiple resources and spanning many months from start to finish.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities.

Physical Requirements: Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools.  Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
