Job Summary

Executing recruitment processes and deliver a talented and diverse work force for entry level hourly production positions. This includes sourcing diverse qualified nonexempt, bargaining and contingent candidates through talent staffing lifecycle. Accountable for hourly recruiting solutions for multiple lines of business throughout WPS Companies. Foster partnerships with hiring supervisors to deliver effective sourcing and recruiting strategies to fill entry level hourly vacancies. Build a pipeline of hourly talent. Represent WPS at community recruiting events.

The team is made up of 5 full-time recruiters an admin/coordinator as well as someone that handles back-office/metrics and special projects. You will report to the Director of Talent Staffing.  This is a newly created position within the organization, opened due to growth. 

Characteristics and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for full life cycle recruitment for high-volume bargaining unit and non-bargaining unit hiring needs.
  • Source and ensure a diverse candidate pool of production candidates who are “hire ready” by sourcing, screening, skills testing, and referencing of candidates.
  • Partner with hiring manager to develop recruiting strategies for entry level hourly production classes or individual roles, staying aware of repetitive openings.
  • Proactively research and identify innovative sources to build pipeline for entry level hourly production positions that repeat openings throughout year.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of collective bargaining contract as it pertains to rules for sourcing internal candidates for hires, promotions and transfers. 
  • Conduct interviews, document results, coordinate reference/background checks, and coordinate hiring process with hiring manager for hourly positions.
  • Develop and maintain active hourly applicant pool of qualified candidates for potential/future openings.
  • Support hiring manager in all hourly talent staffing matters and act as subject matter expert, ensuring prompt communication and resolution of issues.
  • Provide counsel to hiring manager related to established bargaining contracted wages.
  • Maintain continuous communications with candidate throughout the interviewing life cycle to create a positive experience, represent WPS in a professional manner as employer of choice.
  • Assist Marketing with development of recruitment promotional/marketing material.
  • Partner with hiring manager to meet hourly and contingent staffing needs, including candidate vetting and selection, offer generation and onboarding.
  • Stay abreast of current and future hiring and business needs by partnering with HR Business Partners.
  • Work with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations; including Affirmative Action Plans and OFCCP compliance.
  • Provide back-up support to Talent Staffing team members.
  • Lead and/or support staffing projects and initiatives such as selection and implementation of recruitment tools and technology process improvement efforts.
  • Participate in departmental and cross-functional committees, educational opportunities and networks with industry peers to identify/maintain strong awareness of best practices.

Qualifications

Work Experience

Required

  • One (1) year of high-volume recruitment experience and Experience in managing a recruiting cycle from start to finish
  • Experience in implementing and utilizing a variety of talent staffing techniques
  • Experience with HRIS/applicant tracking system, basic HR measurement, and process improvement techniques

Preferred

  • Experience with collective bargaining recruitment

Education

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience

Preferred

  • Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Society for Human Resources Management –
  • Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designation
