Wisconsin State Council SHRM Developing Professionals - Serving the HR Profession

WISHRM Non-Profit Mentor Program

Non-Profit Executive Director Mentor Program with WI SHRM
Sponsored by the J.J. Keller Foundation, Inc.

This Program is now FULL !

Program Background:
The Wisconsin SHRM State Council represents Human Resource Professionals in the State of Wisconsin and is supported through the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), a non-profit professional association founded in 1948. Wisconsin also has 19 local SHRM chapters across the state, each that provide programming and networking opportunities in the local area.

This program is generously funded by the J.J. Keller Foundation Inc. which is a supporter of funding organizational projects and programs related to education in the community. *

Purpose:
The Wisconsin SHRM State Council has established an annual mentoring program for executive directors of 501(c)(3) organizations across the state of Wisconsin, which will create opportunities for cooperation and collaboration between local SHRM chapters and the executive directors. This unique program will provide education in the field of Human Resources through SHRM’s many resources and will help build connections with these organizations to be of service to our local community. This mentorship program targets organizations that would not otherwise have the funding for a staff Human Resources Professional. This program aims to fulfill educational needs in the profession, which may otherwise go unfulfilled in some organizations due to budget limitations.

Goals of Program:
By participating in this mentorship program, you would have opportunities to enhance your knowledge through web resources, live presentations, legal updates, and other various HR resources to help you handle the Human Resources challenges that come up managing a regular staff.

Educational Benefits:
  • Coverage of national SHRM membership dues for 2012
  •  Coverage of annual local chapter meeting attendance and dues for one (1) year
  • Attendance at one (1) 2012 WI State SHRM legislative conference
  • Attendance at the 2012 WI State SHRM Conference including a two (2) night hotel stay
  • Mileage stipend to cover some travel expenses
  • Orientation and other program webinars at no cost as offered during the year
