Leadership Overview
 
The Leadership Director is responsible for coordinating the leadership, volunteer, society and human resources-related training and development activities for the state council, SHRM chapters and their members.
 
2010 WI State Leadership Conference
If you are a volunteer leader with a Wisconsin SHRM chapter, state council or student chapter (or will be one soon), this conference opportunity is just for you!  We invite you to attend this year's conference at Stone Harbor Resort, set in picturesque Door County Wisconsin.  The goal of this conference is to offer you leadership strategies that will strengthen your chapter, council or student group through education, communication, and collaboration with other SHRM leaders.  
  
The 2010 WI State Leadership Conference will be held on Thursday and Friday, August 5 & 6, 2010 at Stone Harbor Resort & Conference Center, Sturgeon Bay, WI.  Click here for more information.

2008 WI State Leadership Conference  
The 2008 Leadership Conference was held in Appleton and had over 75 WI State SHRM volunteers in attendance. The conference had a lot to offer to help attendees continue to advance their important work at the state and local levels for their fellow HR professionals. 
 
The focus for this program was  “Developing Professionals - Serving the HR Profession.”  During the two day conference, attendees found many opportunities not only to enrich their professional leadership journey, but also to learn from their fellow volunteer leaders and subject experts.   For a full description of what the program had to offer, a copy of the speaker presentations and also a list of best practices, please click here.

Bio
 
Joanne Jackson, BS, MA, SPHR – Amery Regional Medical Center - Administrator of Human Resources, Community Relations, and Quality Improvement
Joanne has been a proud HR professional in multiple areas for almost 20 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Administration and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Northwestern College, St. Paul, Minnesota. Efforts and involvement in promoting the HR profession and supporting HR professionals include serving as President, Certification Chair, and Secretary/Treasurer of the local St. Croix Valley Employers / SHRM Chapter, serving on the 2011 WISHRM conference planning committee, membership in the Healthcare Human Resource Coalition of NW Wisconsin. Joanne serves as a volunteer with the local Salvation Army homeless shelters to teach job interviewing and resume’ writing skills. She is eager to learn about and contribute to the WISHRM State Council.
